The Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine in Globe, Arizona was named after the mountain range where it is located, which from a distance is said to resemble a sleeping woman with her arms crossed. Used by Zuni Pueblo silversmiths in petite point, needlepoint, and inlay jewelry because of its natural hardness and consistent color.
