Omega earring backs, made by Italian craftsmen, are an evolution of the popular earclips of the 1940s and 50s and take their name from their uncanny resemblance to the Greek letter omega – Ω. When closed over the post the rounded end of the omega back holds to the ear via pressure for a secure fit.
The Edge Collection of rings, earrings and bracelets was inspired by Wabi sabi, an ancient aesthetic philosophy rooted in Zen Buddhism. On holiday in the Maldives, my hotel room had an interesting room divider made from woven twigs and branches. It was asymmetrical yet perfectly balanced with a structure that was both strong structure and free flowing. This was the goal for the Edge collection: to embrace the Wabi sabi philosophy of “beauty in imperfection” with purposeful alterations in symmetry and metal texture while achieving perfect balance.
