We all do it. We come to the end of the year, get through the
holidays and then look around our homes and our lives, and
reflect on we’d like to change. Maybe even take on a
thousand piece purge.
I travel over the half the year. Can you imagine what my
closet looks likes after coming and going a dozen times? How
about my office? Would you like to see what I’m looking at
today? Yep, that close up shows just one 24” square on my
desk.
One Bite at a Time...the Thousand Piece Purge
Fortunately, I came up with a way to tackle both studio and home
without the need to vomit or cry. I call it Q’s 1,ooo Piece
Purge. You can begin on any day of any year. The
objective is to remove 1,000 pieces of unneeded detritus from
your life. Furthermore, keeping count on a piece of paper
is extremely satisfying.
Almost empty shampoo bottles, clothes that have not been worn in
a year, old jars of stale spices, the lonely sock that seems to
come back from every ship trip….out, out, out with it. It
feels so good -- which may be the attraction -- it’s almost
like weight loss.
Thousand Piece Purge...a Yearlong Love Affair
Above all, it can be done over the course of the entire year. Just chipping away with satisfaction. I promise you will find it addicting, too. (Give me a shout if you master and enjoy this. Above all, I can give you the next steps for purging more).
