Willie Nelson’s lyrics have been running through my head this week as I pack and prepare for the next cruise…."on the road again, I just can’t wait to get on the road again." Or, in my case, perhaps it should be "on the boat again…." But that got me to thinking….when did life on a ship become just as comfortable for me as life on land?
After a terrific 3 weeks on Viking
Sky cruising from Barcelona to Italy and experiencing several
new European ports (hello, Croatia!), I now find myself packing
for a west coast departure heading to Hawaii on the beautiful
Crystal Symphony (check out this itinerary!).
You’d probably be surprised to hear that the motion of a ship can
sometimes make me feel less than my best self….and yet, each
voyage is another joyful opportunity to explore the world, make
new friends and be inspired to create new works (once I get my
sea legs back!).
Which is better, life on land or life at sea? The answer is just
within my reach, but truly it doesn’t matter – I’m simply
grateful that I get to have the best of both worlds. Where have
you lived that you ended up loving – growing where you were
planted, so to speak – that was completely unexpected?
Drop me a line on Facebook and share
where you lived and what surprised you about loving it there!
