Omega earring backs, made by Italian craftsmen, bear an uncanny resemblance to the Greek letter omega – Ω. When closed over the post the rounded end of the omega back holds to the ear via pressure for a secure fit.

These were inspired by an ancient aesthetic philosophy rooted in Zen Buddhism called Wabi sabi. On holiday in the Maldives, my hotel room had an interesting room divider made from woven twigs and branches. It was asymmetrical yet perfectly balanced with a structure that was both strong structure and free flowing.
